Parliament: 40 Session: 1

CAPEL POLICE STATION

821. Hon COLIN HOLT to the minister representing the Minister for Police:

(1) When will the Capel police station be completed?

(2) What is the cost to build and fit out the Capel police station?

(3) What will be the expected operating hours of the Capel police station?

(4) Has the government allocated additional operational resources for the Capel police station?

(5) If yes to (4), how much and what has been allocated?

Hon ALANNA CLOHESY replied:

On behalf of the minister representing the Minister for Police, I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for Police.

(1)–(5) The Western Australia Police Force advises that the station is estimated to be completed in the middle of 2020. There has been $8 million allocated, with a project definition plan being developed and site selection in Capel underway. Due to operational sensitivities, station strength cannot be disclosed.
