WA COUNTRY HEALTH SERVICE
— MEDICAL IMAGING
449. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to WA Country Health Service's
utilisation of contractors to manage and release medical images to treating
health practitioners.
(1) Does WACHS
review the terms and conditions imposed by its contractors on treating health
practitioners when seeking access to medical images to ensure that the terms
and conditions being imposed are not unduly unreasonable and are legally
appropriate?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), please provide details of the
process WACHS follows in reviewing such terms and conditions.
Hon ALANNA
CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) No.
(2) All
contractors engaged in the provision of medical imaging services are required
to meet the terms and conditions of contract as specified in the request
document. Contractors awarded for the provision of medical imaging services at
WA Country Health Service are required to meet relevant WACHS policy and
national standards as specified for data integrity and security. For current
contractors for medical imaging services and through the tender evaluation
process facilitated by the Department of Finance, WACHS has only accepted the
offers of the current contractors who have included in their terms access for
treating health practitioners to their secure online platforms.
(3) Not applicable.
