I refer to the minister's
media statement of 9 February 2022, titled ''Native forestry worker
transition payment and reskilling programs''.
(1) As at 30 August
2022, how many exiting native forestry workers have applied for the one-off
worker transition payment of up to $10 000?
(2) As at 30 August 2022, how many exiting native
forestry workers have been deemed eligible for the worker transition
payment?
(3) As at 30 August 2022, how many exiting native
forestry workers have been deemed ineligible for the worker transition
payment?
(4) As at 30 August,
how much has the state government expended on the native forestry worker
transition payment?

I answer on behalf of the minister
representing the Minister for Forestry. I thank the honourable member for some
notice of the question. I provide the following answer on behalf of the
Minister for Forestry.
(1) Thirteen native forestry workers
have applied for payment 1A—that is, left voluntarily.
(2) Fifty-two
native forestry workers have been deemed eligible for the worker transition
payment. This includes 13 payment 1As for people who left voluntarily and 39
payment 1Bs for people who were made redundant.
(3) One native forestry worker has
been deemed ineligible.
(4) As of 30 August 2022, $1 134 404
has been paid out to native forestry workers.
