CLIVE PALMER — LEGAL ACTION
493. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Can
the Premier guarantee that Western Australian taxpayers will not be picking up
the bill for the Attorney General's do-over of evidence?
Mr M.
McGOWAN replied:
You
seem to be fixated on this. You seem to be Clive Palmer's lapdog; that
is what the Nationals WA and Liberal Party are. This is the National Party.
Clive Palmer was state director of the National Party in 1983. He ran Joh Bjelke-Petersen's campaign in 1986. He
ran Joh Bjelke-Petersen's campaign for Prime Minister in 1987. He is
National Party through and through. He is one of their mates, and all he tried
to do was use his position to rip-off the Western Australian government by $30 billion
and we stopped him. All the member does is come in here worrying about some, in
the overall scheme of things, very minor expense compared with the $30 billion
that this Attorney General helped save. Stop doing Clive Palmer's
bidding. Stop being his lapdog. The Liberals and Nationals are in his pocket.
You need to stop.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER: Members, even
when you are wearing masks, I can still recognise who is yelling out. Some of
you think you are very clever, but, no—you are very identifiable.
