COMMUNITIES — POLICE RAID
120. Ms M.J. DAVIES to the Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to the leaking of documents
from the Department of Communities and the minister's inability to
answer questions yesterday. In the interests
of full transparency, will the minister table a time line outlining the
critical dates in relation to this incident, including but not limited
to when she or her office were first alerted to this issue within the
department; when this news was shared with the Premier or his office; and when
WA Police were notified, and any other critical dates relating to this
particular incident?
Ms S.F.
McGURK replied:
I am happy to provide to the house
the dates that were specified when we were notified. In fact, most of those
dates were clarified yesterday, in this house and in the other place. The final
part of the member's question related to ''any other critical
dates'', which is a very, very broad outline. I am not sure what exactly
she is asking for there. But with regard to
the investigations, as I understand it, the member is asking when my office was
informed that there were investigations into possible breaches or leaked
documents over these specific incidents. I actually answered that yesterday in
this chamber—when we informed the Premier of such, and when I was
informed that the police were issuing warrants in regard to those
investigations. I am happy to provide that information again, although I do not
imagine there will be more there than we have already provided to the
Parliament.
