ZHENHUA DATA —
PRIVACY CONCERNS
682. Mr
Z.R.F. KIRKUP to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. On
the provision of that list to the Premier's office, will the Premier
then commit his government to ensuring that this data is reviewed and make a commitment
to contact any Western Australians who have been identified in the database in
order to protect them and their families?
Mr M.
McGOWAN replied:
If
the member provides the information to us, we will pass it to the federal
government, as it is the federal government's obligation, under
the commonwealth Constitution, in the area of foreign affairs, to deal with it
as appropriate.
