Question
I refer the Minister to acts of physical aggression in public schools towards staff or students in the Hillarys electorate (including Mullaloo and Beldon) and ask:
(a) how many students were suspended from a primary school in 2018, 2019 and year to date 2020 for acts of physical aggression;
(b) how many students were suspended from a high school (Belridge Secondary College and Duncraig SHS) in 2018, 2019 and year to date 2020 for acts of physical aggression;
(c) how many students were expelled from a primary school in 2018, 2019 and year to date 2020 for acts of physical aggression; and
(d) how many students were expelled from a high school in 2018, 2019 and year to date 2020 (Belridge Secondary College and Duncraig SHS) for acts of physical aggression?

When I launched the State Government’s plan to address violence in schools, Let’s Take a Stand Together, I predicted and expected there would be an increase in suspensions and exclusions. There are no simple solutions to this community-wide issue and the community needs to come together as a whole to ensure violence and aggression are no longer tolerated.
