CORONAVIRUS — RESTRICTIONS —
PLAYGROUNDS
385. Mr A. KRSTICEVIC to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Can
the Premier explain why Western Australia is the only jurisdiction in the
country that will not let children play in playgrounds, and will he table that
health advice, which differs from every other state and territory?
Mr M.
McGOWAN replied:
As
I outlined to the member, we meet with the Chief Health Officer every morning
of every day, seven days a week, and discuss these and other issues as part of
the emergency management arrangements under the state of emergency. The State
Emergency Management Committee meets every morning, the State Disaster Council
meets after every national cabinet meeting and there is a national cabinet
meeting on average once or twice a week. All these issues are discussed.
Different states have done things at different rates within the national
framework. The national framework was published —
Mr A. Krsticevic interjected.
The SPEAKER: Member for
Carine, you have had two goes.
Mr M. McGOWAN: They are very
low quality questions when the member asks things such as this.
Mr A. Krsticevic: I care
about children and their health.
Mr M. McGOWAN: There it is.
The SPEAKER: Member for
Carine!
Mr
M. McGOWAN: I remind the member
that this state government got schools back, certainly before the four states on the east coast. We ensured that
children are being educated. When the member makes silly accusations
like that, think about that fact.
The SPEAKER: That is the end
of question time.
