Question Directed to the: Minister for Community Services
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
Question
I refer to the Housing and Homelessness package announced as part of the
2019-2020 Mid-year Review, and the answer to Question on Notice 6279, and I ask:
(a) Please outline an expected time frame for when the Housing First
homelessness service will be established in Geraldton:
(i) Outline the details of how this service is expected to operate; and
(ii) How many people experiencing homelessness will this service be able to
accommodate in Geraldton at any one time?
Answered on 8 October 2020
(a) Communities is currently fast tracking the approach to the delivery of services under the Housing First Homelessness Initiative, with a view to implementation by the end of the year.
(i) As a procurement process is currently underway for this service, information on the operation of this service will be available after the procurement process is finalised.
(ii) There are approximately 20 rental subsidies per year available for Geraldton for a period of five years; more people may be helped into other forms of accommodation depending on their needs and availability.
