Answered on 15 September 2020

(1) As at 31 July 2020, the number of prisoners awaiting completion of their Initial Individual Management Plan (IMP) (by prison) were;

  • Acacia – 265.
  • Albany – 66.
  • Bandyup – 23.
  • Boronia – 1.
  • Broome – 2.
  • Bunbury – 54.
  • Casuarina – 56.
  • Eastern Goldfields – 16.
  • Greenough – 6.
  • Hakea – 47.
  • Karnet – 5.
  • Melaleuca – 4.
  • Pardelup – 1.
  • Roebourne – 21.
  • Wandoo – 8.
  • Wooroloo – 24.

(2) As at 31 July 2020, the longest time a prisoner had been waiting on the completion of their Initial IMP was 21 months for an appeal class prisoner awaiting an appeal decision.

(3) Corrective Services do not record the average time a prisoner has to wait for the completion of their Initial IMP. To calculate this figure would require the review of each IMP during the specified period and would take significant human resources to do so.
