INVESTIGATION
151. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Attorney General:
I refer to the recent Four
Corners expose on public trustees in this country, and specifically the
case of the Western Australian victim of the Public Trustee. Will the Attorney General
follow the lead of the Queensland government and launch an investigation into
the WA Public Trustee?

I thank the member for the question.
I
think the appropriate body to look at this is the Public Accounts Committee
because it is cross-party. I have already had a discussion with the
chairperson of that committee about its workload capacity to look at it, and I believe
that will be considered at the next meeting of that committee.
