Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 542 asked in the Legislative Council on 18 August 2021 by Hon Nick Goiran

Parliament: 41 Session: 1

STATE SOLICITOR'S OFFICE

542. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the parliamentary secretary representing the Attorney General:

I refer to the answer to question without notice 456 on 10 August 2021, in which it was stated that the establishment of the State Solicitor's Office as an independent sub-department would have minimal impact on the state's finances.

(1) Was a business case prepared?

(2) If yes, will the Attorney General table the business case?

Hon MATTHEW SWINBOURN replied:

I thank the member for some notice of the question. I provide the following response on behalf of the Attorney General.

(1)–(2) No. A cabinet submission was prepared based on the recommendations and findings of the special inquiry into government programs and projects.
