Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 1135 asked in the Legislative Council on 20 October 2020 by Hon Tim Clifford

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

MY HOME PILOT PROJECT — WOODBRIDGE

1135. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to the 15 October Echo News article titled ''Woodbridge battle''.

(1) How many other sites were considered within the City of Swan council area before the Devon Street site in Woodbridge was selected?

(2) How was the piece of bushland, zoned regional reserve and parks and recreation, at Devon Street be offered for the My Home pilot project?

(3) What community consultation regarding the Devon Street site has been undertaken with the Woodbridge community since the My Home pilot project was launched in Fremantle in early 2019?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and the Western Australian Planning Commission are not able to advise how many sites in total that the My Home group may have considered in the City of Swan; however, they are aware of one other DPLH or WAPC site considered by My Home located in the City of Swan.

(2) The reserve land in question was identified by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to potentially test the My Home pilot project for temporary housing.

(3) The proposal is currently being advertised to the community by the City of Swan as part of the development application process ending 21 October.
