TAFE — REGIONAL INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT MANAGERS
1236. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to recommendation 4.4 of the
''Report on the Review of Skills, Training and Workforce Development'',
published in June 2020.
(1) How many
regional industry engagement managers have been appointed so far, at what
campuses, and at what employment level?
(2) Will each individual campus in regional Western Australia
have a regional industry engagement manager; and, if not, why not?
(3) What criteria
are used to determine whether a campus will have a regional industry engagement
manager?
(4) What key performance indicators,
if any, will be used to assess the effectiveness of these roles?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Six regional industry engagement manager level 7
positions were established, with each regional TAFE being allocated two positions. Five of these positions
have been filled to date, and one position is expected to be filled shortly. At
North Regional TAFE, the positions are located at Pundulmurra campus in Port Hedland
and Broome campus. At South Regional TAFE, the positions are located at Albany campus
and Bunbury campus. At Central Regional TAFE, the positions are located at
Geraldton campus and Kalgoorlie campus.
(2)–(3) No. Regional industry engagement managers are
based at major campuses, engage with the industries across their
designated region, and communicate with each campus located throughout the
region.
(4) The key
performance indicators are still to be finalised and are currently under
negotiation with regional TAFE college managing directors.
