Question
(1) How many persons aged under 18 from the Kimberley are currently detained or imprisoned broken down by town of residence, age, and prison or detention facility?
(2) How many of those persons in (1) are Aboriginal, broken down by town of residence, age, and prison or detention facility?
Answered on 14 June 2022
(1) There were 14 young people under 18 years of age whose last known address was from the Kimberley, who were detained as at midnight on 10 May 2022. All persons were detained at Banksia Hill Detention Centre. No further breakdown by age or town has been provided as the numbers are very low and risk identification of individuals.
(2) All 14 persons from part (1) identify as Aboriginal
