Question Directed to the: Leader of the House representing the Premier; Minister for Public Sector Management; Federal-State Relations
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
Question
I refer to full time equivalent (FTE) employees of each Department and Agency within your portfolio areas, and I ask:
(a) how many Public Sector FTE were based in offices in the Perth CBD at 1 January 2010;
(b) how many Public Sector FTE are currently based in offices in the Perth CBD;
(c) have any Public Sector offices moved out of the Perth CBD in the past 10 years; and
(d) if yes to (c):
(i) which offices have moved;
(ii) where have they moved; and
(iii) why?
Answered on 16 September 2020
(a) The Public Sector Commission does not have a full data set with the number of public sector FTE that were based in the Perth CBD at 1 January 2010 as collection of location data was being moved from postcode to geolocation. It is estimated that in June 2013, 16,982 FTE worked in the suburb of Perth.
The Public Sector Commission advises the following:
· As collection of location data was changed in a phased manner from 2008, information on location is incomplete between 2008 and 2013.
· Data is collected each quarter in March, June, September and December each year, not January.
· Information is provided on the suburb of Perth as an approximate for the Perth CBD.
· Data is an estimate only and obtained from administrative systems and provided as reported by agencies at the time of reporting. Methods used by agencies vary, such as reporting of employees on secondments and casual employment, and boundaries may have changed which may affect the data presented.
Table 1 is a breakdown of estimated full time equivalent employees reflective of reported data in 2013.
