Question Directed to the: Minister for Mental Health representing the Minister for Health
Parliament: 41 Session: 1
Question
I refer to the Department of Health's most recent workforce analysis undertaken to determine staffing requirements needed within the Metropolitan Child Development Service to address current and future demand, and I ask:
(a) when was the last workforce analysis undertaken; and
(b) how many additional FTE staff has this workforce analysis identified as being required to meet current and future demand in the following categories:
(i) speech pathology;
(ii) occupational therapy; and
(iii) paediatric services?
Answered on 2 September 2021
I am advised:
(a) Comprehensive systems are in place to manage and review vacancies and move staff to respond to variations in demand. This happens on an annual basis, in 2015 a workforce analysis across Metropolitan Child Development Services was undertaken.
(b)(i)-(iii) Speech pathology, Occupational therapy and Paediatric Services – Systematic workforce planning occurred in the model of care review in 2015.
Note: A structured approach to Child and Adolescent Health Service wide workforce planning is in progress.
