(1) For each of Western Australia's prisons, how many staff grievances were lodged in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 to date?
(2) In reference to (1), how many of the grievances were upheld?
(3) In reference to (1), how many of the grievances were dismissed?
(4) In reference to (1), how many of the grievances remain outstanding?

2) No Grievances were recorded as ‘upheld’ for the period referenced given the Department’s approach to the management and recording of grievances is a process of seeking resolution, rather than determination.

3) Grievances can cease for several reasons, including, but not limited to:

·         The complainant withdrawing the grievance

·         Lack of evidence

·         The complaint lodged does not meet the criteria for a grievance

·         The complaint is being ceased and managed under another process
