Communities provided the complaint to WAPOL?

made to WAPOL?
(4) When did the minister become
aware of the raid on the home of the Aboriginal worker?
Hon

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Police.
(1) On 17
February 2022, Department of Communities provided WA Police with evidence of
thousands of confidential and sensitive documents being sent by an employee
externally. This included 5 463 emails, 2 614 documents, 150 presentations and
329 spreadsheets, which included confidential briefing materials, personal
information about children in care and foster information.
(2) The Acting
Assistant Director of Integrity Operations, Integrity, Intelligence and
Professional Standards, Department of Communities.
(3) The Western Australia Police Force was first notified
of a suspected offence on 21 January 2022. However, due to further
information required to substantiate the allegation, a formal WA Police Force
investigation began on 15 February 2022.
(4) The Minister
for Police became aware of the search of an employee of the Department of
Communities when it was raised by the media on 22 February 2022.
