BUNBURY OUTER RING ROAD
ROUTE — CENTRAL SECTION
938. Hon COLIN HOLT to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the central section of
the Bunbury Outer Ring Road.
(1) Why was the
Wireless Road interchange changed from the original plan; and what was the cost
or saving made by this change?
(2) Will the original Wireless Road
interchange be reinstated, given feedback from local government?
(3) What will be the impact to the
budget of the BORR to reinstate the original project plan?
(4) There is also
concern from local governments that the Busher Road–Moore Road
intersection has not been included in the scope of the BORR project; will this
now be included within the project?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(4) The
ramps associated with the interchange were removed from the project case with
the intention that the ultimate interchange would be constructed at a future
date when required by traffic volumes from adjacent development expected in the
area. Main Roads will review whether a partial connection is possible to
provide enhanced access to Ferguson Valley. The delivery of a full connection
will be determined by increased traffic volumes from adjacent land development.
