860. Hon COLIN HOLT to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
I refer to the direct export of
bauxite by Alcoa Australia for a trial period of five years.
(1) How much bauxite has been directly
exported for the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 to date?
(2) What
percentage does this represent of the amount of bauxite mined by Alcoa for the
same years?
(3) When does the trial conclude?
(4) Has Alcoa
Australia approached the government to extend the trial, and what has been the
government's response?

An answer cannot be provided in the
time frame, as the department needs information from Alcoa to answer this
question. We will endeavour to provide an answer by Tuesday next week.
