PRESCHOOL REFORM
AGREEMENT IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
755. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to the response provided by
the Department of Education as part of the 2022–23 budget estimates
answers to supplementary information question 7, which included a list of
stakeholders that have been, or were intended to be, consulted as part of the
development of the national preschool reform agreement implementation plan.
(1) Can the
minister provide more information about the format and methods of consultation
that have been, or are intended to be, undertaken by the department with this
list of stakeholders?
(2) Has this consultation process
now been completed?
(3) If no to (1), when is it
anticipated to be completed?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The
Department of Education has met, and will continue to meet, with the Association
of Independent Schools of Western Australia,
Catholic Education Western Australia and principals' associations. It
is also in the process of meeting
with government agencies to specifically discuss the preschool reform agreement
implementation plan. The department has engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers to
organise and implement consultation with the early childhood education and care
sector for the funding to follow the child element of the preschool reform
agreement implementation plan. This involves a two-step process of one-on-one
consultations with stakeholders and facilitation of stakeholder workshops.
(2) No.
(3) The meetings
outlined above are ongoing. Consultation with early childhood education and
care sector stakeholders will be completed on 16 September 2022.
