NARROGIN HOSPITAL AND KATANNING HOSPITAL
892. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
This question was provided
on 20 September. There is some confusion about the number; it is either C955 or
C956. I refer to recent concerns
raised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners that the Western
Australian rural hospital system is overburdened.
For each shift from Monday, 12 September to Sunday, 18
September —
(a) how many doctors were allocated/rostered to work at
Narrogin Hospital and Katanning Hospital; and
(b) how many
doctors were actually present and working at Narrogin Hospital and Katanning
Hospital on those dates?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
The answer is effectively to ask the member to place his
question on notice. I want to explain to the honourable member that it is not always going to be possible to get that kind of
information about how many people were rostered on a particular shift at two regional hospitals within four hours. The
answer from the minister is: to allow for a fulsome and accurate
response, I ask the member to place his question on notice.
