LAND AND PUBLIC WORKS
LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 2022
949. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Lands:
Could the minister please provide
the house with a breakdown of the government's consultation with
stakeholders during the drafting of the proposed Land and Public Works
Legislation Amendment Bill 2022, including the names of each stakeholder
consulted; the method of engagement, whether in person or through written
correspondence; and the date of each interaction?
Hon
SAMANTHA ROWE replied:
On behalf of the Leader of the House,
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the
following answer on behalf of the Minister for Lands.
Extensive consultation has been undertaken during drafting,
including with the pastoral, mining and energy industries, native title groups,
the conservation industry, associated peak bodies in these sectors, and any
other interested parties. This includes
multiple briefings held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. The
proposed bill will deliver a range of benefits developed in ongoing
consultation with key industries over a number of years. Consultation on the
draft bill is currently open and ongoing.
