FIRM CONSTRUCTION — DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE

Minister for Finance:
I refer to the company FIRM
Construction entering administration and the comment from the director of the
company who was quoted in the media as saying —
We have been closely engaged with the
Department of Finance in the past few weeks to ensure our approach is aligned
in terms of how best to deliver on our public sector projects �
(1) What projects
has the government tendered to FIRM Construction and at what price?
(2) How did the
Department of Finance assess the viability of FIRM Construction in the tender
processes and what was the result of that assessment?
(3) Were any
industry concerns about the viability and business practices of FIRM Construction
expressed to the department?
(4) Were
subcontractors protected under the tenders awarded to FIRM Construction by the
department?
(5) If no to (4),
how will the government support subcontractors to FIRM Construction?
