WA COUNTRY HEALTH SERVICE
— RADIOLOGY CONTRACT
1247. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the contract between the
WA Country Health Service and Global Diagnostics (Australia) Pty Ltd for
radiology reporting and procedural services and sonography services.
(1) Has WACHS exercised its option
to extend the contract until 2021?
(2) If yes to
(1), did WACHS undertake an assessment of GDA compliance against the contract
specifications prior to exercising the extension option; and, if not, why not?
(3) Did GDA meet
all the requirements of the specifications and can the minister please provide
a copy of the assessment report?
(4) Is it WACHS'
intention to tender for these services prior to the expiration of the current
contract with GDA?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) Yes.
(3) Yes. The documents are considered to be
commercially sensitive and on that basis I am unable to table them.
(4) Yes. However,
this does not preclude WA Health from considering whether to bring part or all
of the service back in-house in either the WA Country Health Service or another
health service provider.
