CHILD PROTECTION —
CASEWORKERS — WORKLOAD
1310. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Child Protection:
I
refer to my estimates question prior to hearing 5 regarding caseloads that were
over the allowable threshold of 18 between July 2019 and June 2020.
(1) How many
cases did the caseworker with the highest number of cases have during that
reporting period?
(2) Further to (1), for that
caseload, how many children in total were included in that caseload?
(3) How many cases does the
caseworker with the highest number of cases have today?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Between July
2019 and June 2020, the caseworker with the highest number of cases had 11
cases for a 0.5 FTE, a pro rata caseload of 22 cases. This caseworker was
included in the caseloads over-18 data provided due to this pro rata
application.
(2) Workload
management reporting is a point-in-time data report produced at the beginning
of every month and does not contain details regarding individual case
allocation.
(3) The most
recent data caseload reporting data available is at 2 October 2020, and the
highest caseload in that report was five cases for a 0.24 FTE, a pro rata
caseload of approximately 20 cases.
