HOUSEHOLD ENERGY EFFICIENCY SCHEME
1246. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to the $13 million
household energy efficiency scheme first announced in December 2020 to assist
up to 10 000 households.
(1) To date, how
many households have been involved in the pilot program operated by Horizon
Power and Synergy respectively?
(2) What were the
average savings for households participating in the pilot programs operated by
Horizon and Synergy respectively?
(3) What was the
reduction in annual greenhouse gas emissions for the average household
participating in the pilot phase?
(4) How many
registrations of interest were received by Horizon Power and Synergy
respectively as part of the tender process that closed on 13 October 2022?
Hon
MATTHEW SWINBOURN replied:
I thank the member for some notice
of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by the Minister
for Energy.
(1) Since
December 2020, participation in the household energy efficiency scheme pilots
is as follows: 51 households participated in the Synergy and Anglicare pilot to
13 September 2022 and 12 households participated in the Horizon Power pilot to
13 September 2022. The HEES pilots are ongoing and will conclude at the end of
December 2022.
(2) Evaluation of
the pilots will be conducted at the conclusion of the pilot in December 2022.
This will include assessment of average savings from households.
(3) Reduction in
annual greenhouse gas emissions for the average household participating in the
pilots will be determined as part of the pilot evaluation.
(4) The
retailer-led procurement process is ongoing and cannot be discussed until it
has been concluded.
