CANNABIS USE — DEATHS
837. Hon
SOPHIA MOERMOND to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for
Health:
How
many deaths for which the primary cause of death was listed as cannabis use
were there in Western Australia in —
(a) 2021; and
(b) to this point in 2022, where
statistics allow?
Hon STEPHEN
DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer, which I provide on behalf of
the Leader of the House, has been provided to me by the Minister for Health.
Cause of death data is coded by the
Australian Bureau of Statistics and managed by the Australian Coordinating Registry. The latest available data is from 2020.
The Department of Health does not hold this data for 2021 or 2022.
