AND YOUNG PEOPLE — APPOINTMENT
1010. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Leader of the House
representing the Attorney General:
I refer to the answer given to
question without notice 919, asked on 15 September 2020, regarding the status
of the appointment of the next Commissioner for Children and Young People.
(1) Has the
government advertised for expressions of interest, as outlined in section
7(2)(a) of the Commissioner for Children and Young People Act 2006; and, if so,
when; and, if not, why not?
(2) If the
government has advertised for expressions of interest, will the Attorney General
please table copies of those advertisements?
(3) To the Attorney General's understanding,
has there been consultation with the leaders of the Liberal Party, the Nationals WA, the Greens and Pauline Hanson's
One Nation with regard to the appointment; and, if so, when; and, if
not, why not?
(4) Have children
and young people been involved in the selection process, as outlined in section
7(3) of the act; and, if so, when, and by what means; and, if not, why not?
