Origin of the Name:
Cockburn Sound was named by Captain James Stirling in March 1827, after Admiral Sir George Cockburn, born in London, 22 April 1772, died at Learmington, England 19 August 1853. He served at the reduction of Martinique in 1809, and assisted at the capture of Washington 1814. It was he who took Napoleon to Saint Helena after the Battle of Waterloo.

David Scaife (ALP)

David grew up in country WA and now lives in Yangebup. He graduated in Arts and Law from UWA and has been admitted to the W.A. Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.

For the last decade he has been working as an employment lawyer, standing up for people who have been treated unfairly at work.

He is the Parliamentary Secretary for Planning; Lands; Housing; Homelessness.
