Copyright and conditions of use

This website includes information, such as data, pages, documents, graphics, audio and video that are subject to copyright under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and is owned by the Parliament of Western Australia. This excludes material owned by third parties, such as tabled papers and evidence and submissions to parliamentary committees.

Use of material

The Parliament of Western Australia supports the use and dissemination of its material. Unless otherwise indicated, you may copy, distribute, display, download and otherwise deal with the material on this website (apart from any third party material and for commercial use), on the condition that such use is not for the purpose of advertising, satire or ridicule, or to misrepresent members of Parliament, and provided you include the copyright notice '© Parliament of Western Australia'.

Apart from any fair dealing for the purposes of private study, research, criticism or review, as permitted under the provisions of the Copyright Act 1968, no part may be reproduced or re-used for any commercial purposes whatsoever without prior written permission of the Parliament of Western Australia.

It is the Parliament of Western Australia’s preference that publications not be republished on a website but rather a link provided to the original document, as this will capture any amendments to material made by the Parliament of Western Australia.

Images

The images on this website are subject to copyright. You may copy, distribute, display, download and otherwise deal with the images in the image library in accordance with the 'use of material' provision above.

Images should not be adapted, altered or manipulated.

This right of use is limited to the images in the image library and does not include other images on the website.

Official records

The official records of the proceedings of the two houses include Hansard, the Legislative Council Minutes of Proceedings, Questions List, Notice Paper, Business Program and Weekly Bulletin, and the Legislative Assembly Votes and Proceedings, Questions Booklet, Notice Paper and Business Program. These official records and webcasts of proceedings are covered by parliamentary privilege. Republication by others is not afforded the same protection and may result in exposure to legal liability if the material is defamatory.

You may copy and make use of excerpts of proceedings where (1) you attribute the Parliament as the source, (2) you assume the risk of liability if the manner of your use is defamatory, (3) you do not use the material for the purpose of advertising, satire or ridicule, or to misrepresent members of Parliament, and (4) your use of the extracts is fair, accurate and not misleading.

Parliamentary, Legislative Council or Legislative Assembly Crest

Except where reproduction of the crest is incidental to the reproduction of a publication authorised under this copyright notice, the crest or other parliamentary symbols and logos may not be used without written authorisation of the Parliament.

Third Party material

Copyright permission within this notice does not extend to copyright on third party materials on this website, such as papers tabled in Parliament. Evidence, submissions and other material provided to committees should not be republished or distributed, even by the original owner of the material, without the permission of the relevant committee or house.
