Origin of the Name:
In 1843, one of the von Bibra family surveyed the area and selected a 320 acre parcel of land. By the 1850s, the name 'Bibra's Lake' was common for the area, and in 1967 the lake and the suburb were officially recorded as Bibra Lake.
