Synopsis

The purpose of this Bill is to introduce the State Parliamentary system of preferential voting for local government elections. This Bill was created as a consequence of the Legislative Council dividing the Local Government Amendment Bill 2006 (155-2) into two Bills.

Royal Assent given 25 Jun 2007 as Act No. 9 of 2007. This Act comes into operation on a day fixed by Proclamation (see Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
