Section 64 of the Commissioner for Children and Young People Act 2006(WA) requires that “the Minister must carry out a review of the operation and effectiveness” of the Act as soon as is practicable after the expiry of 5 years from the commencement of the Act. The review was due in December 2012. The Attorney General is the responsible Minister, and is required by the Act to “prepare a report based on the review and, as soon as is practicable after the report is prepared, must cause it to be laid before each House of Parliament”.
